This summer has been measured in songs. Windows open, drives to the coast, and the familiar buzz of visitors drifting down the Russian River. We’ve even purchased our first canoe and can’t wait to spend more time on the water ourselves. Until then, our favorite records have been the soundtrack to the season, and these four flatlays grew from those moments.
I gathered a few of my favorite pieces that are currently available in the shop and paired each with an album that has found its way into our record player this season. Every look is tied to a memory, whether it’s discovering music on Royal Street in New Orleans, wandering the Sonoma County farmers markets, or soaking in another beautiful Northern California summer.
I hope these pairings inspire you to revisit a favorite record and enjoy the season while it lasts.
Sundrenched Stripes
Inspired by Natalia Lafourcade’s album, Musas Vol. 2. Pastel stripes, woven textures, and colors that illuminate like a summer afternoon along the River in Guerneville, California.

Paired with an orange print scarf, white circle enamel earrings, and Lucky Brand woven flats
I was first awestruck by Natalia Lafourcade’s music a few years ago when I came across her Tiny Desk performance. Her song, Soledad y Mar, feels like a cool, soothing breeze upon listening. Musas, Vol. 2 is Natalia Lafourcade’s heartfelt tribute to Latin American folk music. Her melodies, timeless storytelling, and sunlit spirit make her music the perfect soundtrack for a Sonoma summer.
My Favorite Track On The Album: Luz de Luna
Blue Skies & The Beatles
Inspired by Arthur Fiedler & The Boston Pops Play the Beatles. A sunny mix of tropical color and orchestral pop for afternoons by the coast.
Capture The Look
Paired with baby blue shades, green lined woven tote, and mauve espadrilles
Arthur Fiedler & The Boston Pops Play the Beatles reimagines some of the Beatles’ most beloved songs through beautiful orchestral arrangements. The album cover is so vibrant, I feel like it could inspire an entire wardrobe. Familiar melodies like “Penny Lane,” “Michelle,” and “Hey Jude” feel fresh while still capturing everything I love about the originals. It’s completely my cup of tea.
My Favorite Track: And I Love Her
Royal Street Stroll
Inspired by Tuba Skinny’s Some Kind-a-Shake. This pairing always brings me back to one of my favorite summer trips to New Orleans. Slow strolls through the French Quarter, a perfect Pimm’s Cup at Napoleon House, and jazz that followed us from one venue to the next on Frenchmen Street. All in a cool cotton dress that feels just as at home over brunch as it does for an evening of live music.
Capture The Look
Paired with a watercolor poppy scarf, Kate Spade wicker tote
I discovered Tuba Skinny by chance on Royal Street in New Orleans and later crossed paths with them again at Fitzgerald’s near Chicago a few years later. I’ve always believed music has the power to transport you. Close your eyes, and suddenly you’re back in a place that once felt unforgettable. This has become one of my favorite records to play on repeat.
My Favorite Track: Thriller Rag
Market Days

Paired with Mexican gold huaraches
The first time I heard The Boswell Sisters “Shout, Sister, Shout,” I was immediately hooked. I love how the rhythm eases in before building into the Boswell Sisters’ incredible harmonies. It was an instant favorite and remains one of my favorite musical discoveries from the 1930s.
My Favorite Track: Shout Sister, Shout
